The latest RE/MAX Recreational Property Report is out, offering insight into buying activity and liveability factors. Such as who is driving demand, top amenities, and more emerging trends in Canada's popular recreational markets.
Re/Max Integra, Ontario-Atlantic Canada survey of RE/MAX Brokers and Agents found that in 91 per cent of Canadian recreational property markets examined, retirees were the key demographic driving activity. In contrast to last year’s findings, at that time retirees were a dominant driving force in only 55 per cent of markets examined. More recent survey found there are more retirees and soon-to-be retirees purchasing cottages for retirement living, and increasingly blurring the line between recreational and residential properties.
This year, Recreational Property Report, is being released as a two-part initiative. Part 1 of the report focuses on liveability factors and buying trends – released prior to May long weekend--the unofficial start of summer and kick-off to Canada's cottage season. Part 2 of the report, coming this summer, will dive into market-specific price and sales data, and more! Stay Tuned.
